The funeral took place yesterday to Bangor Cemetery of Mr. Patrick McCann, a former Irish international footballer, whose death occurred at his residence in Crosby Street, Bangor, on Saturday (note: June 22, 1935).
A prominent figure on the sprinting track and on the football field 25 years ago, Mr. McCann played full back for Belfast Celtic and for Glentoran. He was capped against England in 1910, 1911, and 1912; against Scotland in 1910 and 1911, and against Wales in 1910 and 1913. He retained his amateur status throughout his football career.
