Ben Dabbs the deputy full back

January 8, 1936
Ben Dabbs, Liverpool’s reserve back, has made only three senior appearances this season, and six in all in League football, but he has deputised for two of the finest defenders the club and England have ever had – Tommy Cooper and Ernest Blenkinsop.

It is a recommendation for the Oakengates player that in the three games in which he has taken part this term Liverpool have conceded only one goal. Recent offers were made for Ben as well as for Jack Tennant, who was transferred last week to Bolton.
