Gordon Hodgson, the Liverpool F.C. inside forward, was to-day transferred to Aston Villa. Hodgson was discovered when the South African amateur touring team visited England in the 1924-25 season.
Liverpool signed him as a professional, and during his ten seasons with them he has scored 207 goals, and was capped for England against Scotland, Ireland, and Wales in 1931. He has also played for the Football League.
He has played cricket as a fast bowler for Lancashire.
