Mr. Charles Hewitt to-day resigned the secretary-managership of Chester, and has accepted a similar position with Millwall. Mr. Hewitt is 46 years of age. He was a player with Liverpool, Swansea Town and Cardiff – first as an inside forward forward and then as a goalkeeper. He was never capped, but appeared in international trials. He formerly managed Wrexham. He has been secretary-manager of Chester for nine years, and has established a big reputation in the north. He was a great friend of the late Mr. Herbert Chapman.

Note: His age is wrong. Charles Hewitt was born in 1884, so should have said he was 52 years of age.
