Mr. Alex Raisbeck to-day effected one of the best signings made by Chester for a long time when he obtained the signature of Robert Done, the former Liverpool full-back, who has been with Reading for the past two season.
When he was manager of Halifax, Mr. Raisbeck was keen to sign Done from the Anfield club, but the fee was beyond him, and the player went to the biscuit town instead.
Done has never really been properly fit at Reading, as the place hasn’t agreed with him, and when he figured on the open-to-transfer list Mr. Raisbeck was soon in negotiations with the club.
Done joined Liverpool in 1926 from Runcorn, and plays equally well in either full-back position. He should be a big asset to the Cestrians.
