One other late transfer in England is of interest to Angus. David Laing, former Dundee United and Forfar Athletic outside-left, is leaving Liverpool for Watford. It is expected he will play for his new club against Queens Park Rangers to-day.
Laing is a native of Midmill. He developed in the junior ranks of East Craigie, and graduated to the senior game with Dundee United. He had a good innings at Tannadice, but he was tempted to try his luck in Irish football.
Forfar Athletic accepted his services on his return to this country. He played many of his best games for the Station Park club. His performances attracted the attention of Liverpool, and two seasons ago they paid a price for his transfer.
