Look out for some big money transfer before the season is over. Circulars setting out the names of players with whom clubs are prepared to part are changing hands.
I have seen one of these. It comes from Liverpool; who are ready to receive offers for Scotland internationals Tom Bradshaw, centre-half, and Jimmy McDougall, wing half; also Ben Dabbs, right or left back; Fred Howe, centre-forward; and A.Smith, inside left or right.
Details? Service!! Tom Bradshaw joined Liverpool from Bury in 1930. Was one of the famous Scottish eleven who defeated England 5-1 on the “Blue Wizards” day in 1928.
Dabbs joined Liverpool from Oakengates in 1932-3 on the recommendation of former Liverpool star Harry Chambers. McDougall went to Liverpool from Partick Thistle in 1928 as an inside forward. Freddy Howe was recommended to Liverpool by Tosh Johnson, the former Everton and Manchester City and Liverpool international, who saw him playing with Hyde United, the Cheshire League club. Was the leading goalscorer last season with sixteen in forty games.
