The funeral took place yesterday from “The Lodge,” Sommerton Road, Belfast, to Carnmoney Cemetery of Mr. James Barron, whose death occurred on Tuesday. Mr. Barron was for many years a prominent figure in the business life of the city and was a former member of the Belfast Corporation. He was in earlier years a clever footballer, being “capped” seven times for Ireland.
The chief mourners were the immediate relatives, and the attendance also included a number of members of the Belfast Corporation, his old football associates, and brethren of the Masonic Order.
Messrs. Thomas Johnson & Sons, Ltd., 43, Bedford Street, Belfast, had charge of the funeral arrangements.
