Tranmere Rovers have added two promising young players to their staff by signing Joe Millbank from Wolves and Abe Rosenthal from Liverpool. Millbank, who is not yet 20 years of age, is a big, strapping centre-half, standing 6ft. 1in. and weighing 12 ½st. He first attracted the notice of Major Buckley, the Wolves manager, when he was in the Guards, and played for the Army against the Navy. He was bought out of the Army, and recently has been figuring in the Wolves Central League side.
Rosenthal is the former schoolboy international, who has been on Liverpool’s ground staff for the past three seasons. He has made several A team appearances, and latterly has been on loan to Prescot Cables, with whom Liverpool have a “nursery” arrangement. Rosenthal is an inside left, 17 years of age, standing 5ft. 8in., and weighing 11st. 6lb.
