Liverpool F.C. players on the march


May 5, 1939

Twenty nine members of the Liverpool F.C. arrived on an Army lorry to join up in the 5th King’s Territorials at Townsend Avenue Drill Hall, today. They are the first team to join up en bloc. The manager, Mr. George Kay, who also enlisted, is seated on the radiator.
