Ellesmere Port Council last night agreed to a request of the Testimonial Committee that the photographs of Joe Mercer (Everton), Stan Cullis (Wolves), and Sam Chedgzoy (formerly Wolves**), should be hung in the Council Chamber, and that a glass case, containing a new football bearing the players’ autographs with their achievements recorded on panels should also be placed in the Council Chamber.
It is also proposed to present each player with an inscribed gold watch.

** Sam Chedgzoy never played for Wolves, but was a key figure for Everton for many years.
