Football cricketers


Thursday, August 10 – 1939
The annual charity cricket match between a joint team of Everton and Liverpool footballers and the Bootle Cricket Club will take place at Hawthorne Road, Bootle, on Monday and Tuesday evenings. This will be a 12-a-side match and the footballers will select their side from the following:

Liverpool: Arthur Riley, Eddie Spicer, Bill Jones, Phil Taylor, Cyril Done, Berry Nieuwenhuys, Jack Balmer, Tom Bush.

Everton: Stan Bentham, George Milligan, Bunny Bell, Jack Jones, Simmons, Dixie Dean, Tommy Lawton, Charlie Gee, Johnson.
