Death of Liverpool F.C. ex-trainer

Tuesday, January 23 – 1940
The death took place early today of Mr. William Connell, of Clapham-road, Anfield, Liverpool. Mr. Connell was for 40 years chief trainer to Liverpool Football Club, which he joined from Stockport.

He retired about ten years ago, being succeeded by Mr. Charlie Wilson. He leaves two sons and a daughter, all of whom are married.
