Prominent footballers past and present attended the funeral in Liverpool today, of Mr. William “Billy” Connell, the former Liverpool F.C. trainer.
Liverpool Football Club was represented by Mr. William Harvey Webb, director, and Mr. George Patterson, secretary; Everton F.C. by Mr. Ernest Green (Chairman) and Mr. Theo Kelly (secretary).
Others who paid their respects were Messrs. Jack Parkinson, Charlie Wilson, Walter Wadsworth, Donald Mackinlay, Ephraim Longworth and William Cockburn.
