Liverpool F.C.’s invitation to local youngsters to attend Anfield with a view of being taken up by the club had a good response. There were a dozen promising young boys at Mr. George Kay’s night school last evening, and although the ground was not used good use was made of the outdoor gymnasium for ball training.
The other Anfield amateurs who make up that very progressive second team were also present, and no doubt the newcomers would learn something from those who have already been blooded into Lancashire League football.
Liverpool’s second team to play at Manchester United on Saturday is: –
Syd Lund, Kenneth Seddon, Ted Rafferty, Ray Lambert, Dennis Cooke, Eddie Spicer, Stan Pickstock, W. Crompton, Cyril Done, Stan Palk, George Collister.
