Liverpool boys do their bit

Liverpool Boys’ city team during the past two months as attained form very little short of pre-war standards, and after several good victories have now challenged a combined team from the rest of Merseyside, and the game will be played on Saturday at Holly Park (15:15).

The proceeds will be handed to the South Liverpool Club as a mark of appreciation for favours received from the generous hands of the South-end club during this and other seasons.

Liverpool’s probable team:
Garton (Huyton), Griffiths (St Matthew’s R.C.), Brazier (St. Sylvester’s R.C.), Spencer (Abbotsford Road), Cain (St. Teresa’s R.C.), Doyle (Gilmour), Rowe (Roscoe), Beel (St. Teresa’s R.C.), Les Shannon (Leamington Road), Stan Sheldrake (Breckfield), Pollard (St. Silas C.E.).

The Rest:
Ernie Aindow (Southport), Cooley (Wallasey), Kiernan (Birkenhead), Dolman (Ellesmere Port), Raynor (Birkenhead), Jenkins (Crosby), John Linaker (Southport), Halliday (Crosby), Varney (Ellesmere Port), A. Player (Bootle), Williams (Bebington).
