Private Tom Flower, Notts County’s goalkeeper (right), has represented his company at football, cricket and tug-of-war, but o parade put his knee out again, though not seriously. C.S.M. Matt Mellors (left) who was licensee of the Rose and Thistle, Wollaton Street, Nottingham, served 21 years in army, and volunteered last December at the age 51, and is still in category A1.
