Liverpool team for Wrexham

September 3, 1941
Liverpool were so pleased with the display of Willie Hall, the young Old Swan forward, against Wrexham at Anfield last Saturday that he is to be given a second chance this week – in the return game with Wrexham at the Racecourse.

Hall came into last Saturday’s match at the last minute and crowned a good display by scoring the last of Liverpool’s five goals.

Fazackerley, the young right back, who also made his senior debut last Saturday, is another who retains his place. I am certain that Fazackerley, when he has mastered positional play, will make that position his own.

Palk retains the inside right berth, and with Alf Hobson and Dick Dorsett, the two “guest” players, available again, Manager George Kay expects to field an unchanged team.

There is a possibility that Willie Fagan will be asked to come North for the game, but it is not certain.

Liverpool: Alf Hobson, Charlie Fazackerley, Ray Lambert, Harry Kaye, Dennis Cooke, Eddie Spicer, Billy Hall, Stan Palk, Cyril Done, Dick Dorsett, Billy Liddell.
