One could not have wished for more enthralling fare than at Anfield, where there was quite a big gathering of the soccer “heads” from the two cities. Mr. Richard Lawson Martindale, Liverpool’s new chairman, had the support of his vice-chairman Mr. William McConnell, Mr. Walter Henry Cartwright, chairman of the Stores Committee and ensuring that everyone was well catered for, Mr. William John Harrop, Mr. George Alfred Richards – both seeing their first game of the season – and Mr. Ralph Knowles Milne.
The City came under Chairman Mr. Bob Smith with Mr. Fred Jolly and Albert Alexander, and Mr. Wilf Wild, secretary manager.
