Liverpool are at Prenton Park, and, on paper at least ought to bag both points, but no team can look on a visit to Prenton as a foregone conclusion, and Liverpool will have to fight for all they get. The Reds’ defensive problems seem to have been solved by the introduction of Guttridge, who has played soundly each time I have seen him. Teams from: –
Tranmere. – Percy Lovett, Alan Wishart, Arthur Owen, Ted Anderson, Walter Price, Alan Ferguson, Llew Ashcroft, Abe Rosenthal, Norman Climo, Harold Bridges, Benny Jones.
Liverpool. – Alf Hobson, Roy Guttridge, Ray Lambert, Bill Whittaker, Harry Kaye, Charlie Fazackerley, Dennis Cooke, Billy Liddell, George Ainsley, Dick Dorsett, Stan Palk, Jimmy McIntosh.
