Liverpool, home to Tranmere, again include McIntosh, the former Preston and Blackpool left winger. This will be his first appearance at Anfield in Regional football.

Fagan and Carney will play, the former at centre forward, giving Dorsett a chance to resume in his best position, inside forward. Whittaker is doubtful, and Ainsley is engaged in an Army match.

Team from: – Alf Hobson, Roy Guttridge, Ray Lambert, Charlie Fazackerley, Bill Whittaker, Dennis Cooke, Harry Kaye, Billy Liddell, Len Carney, Willie Fagan, Dick Dorsett, Stan Palk, and Jimmy McIntosh.
