Liverpool FC are again running a series of trials for promising young amateurs, and those who wish to take part should write Manager George Kay, giving details of age, height, weight, experience, &c. Players chosen will get the benefit of coaching and training at Anfield and will be enrolled in the indoor “school,” which Mr. Kay is conducting, when there will be periodical lectures on positional play and tactics.
As I have previously mentioned the opportunities for good youngsters are likely to be more numerous than last season for it looks as though the shortage of pre-war professionals is going to be very acute. Liverpool did well with their ex-A-teamers last season, but already a lot of those have reached military age, and there will be ample openings for talented lads this next six months or so.
