The Football Association yesterday issued a list of representative matches arranged for the 1942-43 season. War charities will benefit from most of the matches. Fixtures include:
September 5 – 1942: FA XI v Civil Defence;
September 19 – 1942: Army v Scotland (to be confirmed);
October 10 – 1942: England v Scotland, at Wembley;
October 24 – 1942: England v Wales, in England;
November 21 – 1942: FA XI v RAF, at Manchester;
December 26 – 1942: Army v RAF, at Sheffield;
March 6 – 1943: RAF v Civil Defence, at Preston;
March 13 – 1943: FA XI v Army, at Aldershot;
April 17 – 1943: Scotland v England, at Glasgow;
May 1 – 1943: Wales v England, at Cardiff (May 8, if for charity).
Dates have to be fixed for RAF v Wales, at Cardiff; RAF v Scotland, at Newcastle; England v Scotland (Army international), and Scotland (Army side) v RAF.
