Mr. Stan Kane, former Liverpool F.C. goalkeeper, and now goalkeeper for the National Police football team, of Maxwell-road, West Derby, married today Miss Lilian Elizabeth Nichols, daughter of Chief Superintendent and Mrs. E. Nichols, of Eaton-road, Liverpool.
Chief Superintendent Nichols is head of the motor patrol section of the Liverpool Police Force.
The ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Church, West Derby.
The bride, who wore a gown of gold brocade, had four attendants, Mrs. Arthur Edwards (matron of honour), the Misses Marjorie Pitts and Marjorie Nichols (cousins of the bride) and Miss Valerie Kane (niece of the bridegroom).
Sergeant Arthur Edwards (Liverpool Police) was best man, and the ushers were Staff Sergeant Kenneth Nichols (REME), Lance corporal F. Shaw (King’s Own Regiment) and Mr. M.J. Kane, an officer in the Merchant Navy.
