The Liverpool County Combination title race is reaching the “last lap” stage, with Liverpool and Everton still running neck and neck, and with the Reds in the position of having to gain every remaining point to ensure keeping their Goodison rivals at bay.
Everton’s brilliant 3-0 win at Randle last week shows that Liverpool cannot afford to make any slip. On Saturday Liverpool entertain Marine at Anfield, and while I expect them to win this represents a hard test. Everton go to Penny Lane to celebrate St. Teresa’s first game there as half-share with Kirkby in the ground. Everton should win again. They have not been beaten since September 12, when Liverpool did the trick.
