Guest players for local cup final

Everton and Liverpool meet in the second leg of the Liverpool Senior Cup at Goodison Park this evening. Kick-off at seven o’clock. A number of guest stars are expected to play, including Matthews, the England wing forward, who is to assist Everton.

Liverpool won the first match at Anfield by 4-1. This evening’s game promises to be a thrilling one with so many prominent players likely to turn out. The teams will be chosen from: –

Everton: George Burnett, George Jackson, Norman Greenhalgh, Dave Russell (Sheffield Wednesday), Tommy Jones, Jack Humphreys, Stanley Matthews (Stoke, Blackpool and England), or Llew Ashcroft (Tranmere), Archie Livingstone, Tommy Lawton, Alex Stevenson, Jimmy McIntosh.
Liverpool: Alf Hobson, Alf Pope, Tom Wildsmith (Rochdale), Joe Johnson, Frank Rist, George “Spud” Murphy (Wales), Jack Campbell, Jack Balmer, Cyril Done, Willie Fagan, Michael Hulligan, Robert Beattie.
