The Evening Express understands that Lance-Bombardier Kenneth Carney, RA, son of Mrs. C.J. Carney, of 6, Mayfield-close, West Derby, Liverpool, has been awarded the French Croix de Guerre for services in a Mediterranean theatre of war.
Aged 21, he was educated at Liverpool Collegiate School and was employed in the Liverpool City Treasurer’s Office. He has two brothers servicing in H.M. Forces. One is Captain Len Carney, the Liverpool F.C. forward.
