Many people who crossed the park last Saturday to see the Liverpool and Everton reserves clash at Anfield instead of watching the seniors were well rewarded, for I am assured that the juniors put up a classic show. Liverpool won 2-1, but the Liverpool officials mentioned to me that the Blues played really brilliant football and that it was only Liverpool’s extra “bite” which swayed the issue. Well, the team meet again on Saturday, Goodison Park this time, and if Everton win they will once again go above Liverpool in the County Combination table.
