Liverpool will have t struggle hard to win at Turf Moor tomorrow, for Burnley are strong battlers on their own ground and gave Blackpool a fright recently. Beattie, the Preston forward who has been in brilliant form since he linked up with the Anfielders, will be at inside right, and his canny football should be a great help to the youngsters in the line.
Liverpool’s half backs are playing so well together that I look to them to hold the Burnley attack, so that it will be mainly up to the forwards.
As Jack Westby cannot deputise for the injured Kenneth Seddon, Liverpool bring in Thorpe, a RAF amateur who has been playing for the Anfield reserve side this season, and Twist, also an “A” teamer, is included in the probables forwards.
Team from:
Liverpool. – Alf Hobson, Sam Thorpe, Jeff Gulliver, Harry Kaye, Laurie Hughes, Jack Pilling, Billy Hall, Robert Beattie, Cyril Done, Stan Palk, Jack Campbell, Billy Twist.
