Liverpool will be handicapped by Services calls for their visit to Wrexham on Saturday in the War Cup Qualifying Competition. Stars like Jack Balmr, Don Welsh, and Jack Westby will participate in the Army match at Ayr, and so the Reds have to make a team shuffle.
The side is settled except for the attack. Here six players are named. Mick Hulligan has gone back off leave, but there is a chance he will be able to get away. If not, Liverpool have the youngsters Hall and Campbell ready to fill the wing positions.
Palk moves back into the attack, and Bobbie Beattie and Cyril Done will be there for the other two inside positions. Kenneth Seddon, son of the coach Jimmy Seddon, will be at right back partnering Gulliver, and the half-back line is unchanged.
Liverpool: Alf Hobson, Kenneth Seddon, Jeff Gulliver, Harry Kaye, Laurie Hughes, Jack Pilling, Billy Hall, Stan Palk, Cyril Done, Robert Beattie, Jack Campbell, Michael Hulligan.
