The death of William Crone

The death has occurred of Mr. William Crone, 27 Buckingham Street, Belfast, the former Irish international and Distillery full-back. Crone was the youngest player of the first Distillery side of the ‘80s, which had its headquarters at the Daisy Hill ground, and later played for the team at Broadway and later still at Grosvenor Park. He was “capped” for Ireland no fewer than 16 times.

Mr. Crone is survived by his wife and two sons, one resident in Canada and the other serving in the Army in England.
