The death of Albert Yoxon

The news has been received by Mr. and Mrs. J. Yoxon, Lauriston Road, Walton, that their son, Pilot-Officer Albert Yoxon, RAF (22), the popular Bootle cricketer and Liverpool Reserves footballer has been killed on active service.

Pilot Officer Yoxon joined the Bootle Cricket Club in August, 1939, at the age of 17, and was a first team player of great promise. He joined the Royal Air Force in September, 1941, and for some months was in Canada. He had made many operational flights over Germany. A brother is serving with the Navy.

A short memorial service is to be held at the Anfield cemetery chapel on Thursday.
