The main doubt about Liverpool’s team to visit Stockport County at Edgeley Park on Saturday is in relation to Laurie Hughes, the young centre half. The club is hopeful that Laurie will have made a complete recovery from the side injury received against Everton at Goodison Park, and if so he will resume at centre half.
In that event Jack Blood, the new guest player, will take over at right back, as I mentioned on Monday, for Jim Harley has gone to Belgium for a short trip. However, if Blood is required for centre half then Kenneth Seddon will resume at right back as partner to Gulliver. Billy Liddell is also on the Belgian trip, but there is compensation for his absence in the return from Army football of Phil Taylor, who links up with Nieuwenhuys and Welsh in the inside-forward positions.
