The death took place yesterday at his home in Glasgow of Mr. James W. Welford, a native of Barnard Castle and former Warwickshire and Durham County cricketer and Aston Villa full-back. He played football for Barnard Cross and Stockton. Later he played for Celtic and since then had lived in Glasgow. He was 75.
