Jim Harley in Navy team

Thursday, February 1 – 1945
The Navy will turn out their strongest Soccer side of the war against the Army at Ipswich on February 17. Five internationals have been chosen, including Petty Officer Robert Brown, the Queen’s Park goalkeeper, and Petty Officer Jim Harley, the Liverpool full back, who are playing for Scotland against England at Villa Park on Saturday. The other internationals are Lance Corporal Reg Flewin, the Royal Mariners, Portsmouth and England centre half, who will play right half, Petty Officer Willie Corbett, the Celtic and Scotland centre half, and Marine Horace Cumner, Arsenal and Wales outside left.
