Billy Liddell back for Liverpool F.C.

March 16, 1945
Manager George Kay, of Liverpool, has received word that Billy Liddell, the Scottish international, and Cumner, of Wales and Arsenal, are certain starters against Tranmere Rovers, at Prenton Park in the North Cup. This removes some of the furrows on the Kay brow, and should mean Liverpool finishing their qualifying games with a sound win.

Tranmere Rovers: Butler, Ted Anderson, Mark Radcliffe (Oldham Athletic), Arthur Barrett, Ernest Richards, Stewie Williamson, Harold Atkinson, Abe Rosenthal, Danny Glidden, Harold Bridges, Alf Hanson

Liverpool: Alf Hobson, Jack Westby, Jeff Gulliver, Harry Kaye, Laurie Hughes, Jack Pilling, Jack Campbell, Berry Nieuwenhuys, Billy Liddell, Phil Taylor, Horace Cumner.
