Manchester United player wounded in action

April 7, 1945
Private George Gladwin, the Manchester United half-back, has been wounded in the right leg while fighting in Burma with the Royal Berkshire Regiment. This news has been received by his wife and mother who live in Worksop. Gladwin played for Doncaster Rovers before joining Manchester United just before the war.
