Much as Manager Mr. George Kay would like to announce Liverpool’s cup team for the visit to Manchester City, he does not think it will be possible. As a matter of fact, it is doubtful whether we shall know the constitution of the side until we reach Maine Road. The Football Association has given official notification that Don Welsh cannot be released from the position of reserve to the England team at Hampden Park, but the return of Berry Nieuwenhuys should compensate. All we can do is to live in hope. Billy Liddell has, as expected, withdrawn from the Scottish side owing to injury.
