Don Welsh, spearhead of Liverpool’s attack, will not play again for some time. Welsh underwent a minor operation on a thigh muscle at the Manchester Royal Infirmary yesterday following a kick received in the match at Maine Road on Saturday. Manager Mr. George Kay went to see Welsh yesterday and returned with the report that Welsh will not be fit for four or five week. That would mean the international being out of football for the rest of the season. It is a severe blow to the Cup favourites, but I have no doubt that Mr. Kay’s enterprise will solve the problem.
