Tickets sell like hot cakes

April 19, 1945
Mr. Norman Bullock, manager of Chesterfield, says it is impossible for him at the moment definitely to name his team for Saturday’s cup-tie with Liverpool at Anfield, as there is a doubt about the attack, but the defence certainly will be: Ray Middleton, George Milburn, Billy Kidd, Allen Pringle, Billy Whitaker, Leo Hobson.

Tickets for the return game at the Recreation Ground on April 28 are going like “hot cakes” and half have been sold already. The record for the ground is 32,000.
