Liverpool must win at Oldham

Liverpool must win at Boundary Park against Oldham if they are to retain title interest. The loss of even one point will put paid to their hopes more or less. Still, the Reds showed sufficient in last week’s clash to indicate a victory, provided the rest of the forwards till do what Taylor did on Wednesday – shoot at every opportunity. And there must be no slackening as last week once a lead is established. Nieuwenhuys and Cumner are expected back, and that will give added “punch.”

Liverpool (from): Alf Hobson, Jack Westby, Jeff Gulliver, Harry Kaye, Laurie Hughes, Jack Pilling, Berry Nieuwenhuys, Jack Campbell, Phil Taylor, Les Shannon, George Paterson, Horace Cumner, Harry Eastham, Bill Kinghorn.
