Blackpool’s visit for Anfield’s senior finale tomorrow coincides with a remarkable revival on the part of the “glamour team” of the war. Blackpool’s previous visits here have been on cup business, and, in turn, they have ousted Everton and the Reds, but Liverpool should get some of their own back tomorrow, especially as Billy Liddell, fully recovered from injury is certain to play.
Cumner is definite, and Nieuwenhuys assured me that he would be able to play. Blackpool will include O’Donnell, Worrall, McLaren – just back from overseas service – and Farrow in a game of paramount importance to the Reds. It is one they must win so there should be plenty of thrills starting at three o’clock.
