Pastor James Jackson

August 25, 1945
The notable people met in recent days has astounded me. It is a joy to bump into famous people. The Rev. James Jackson, Liverpool’s captain for many a year, was one such. He was “resting” in his customary manner – by working hard. A restful soul, himself ever rest-less, yet having charm to bring his Liverpool church to a point of spiritual and material strength unequaled by others. His church has a credit balance of some thousands of pounds and a membership of strength where other churches lament their pews are empty.
