The Lambeth Road Unit hold their first football trial on Saturday next at the Education Committee’s Ground, Long-lane, Aintree. Many of Lambeth’s Senior Cadets have gone to sea since last year, so there will be a chance for newcomers to show their abilities. The unit are fortunate in having the services of Mr. S. Millar to take charge of football and P.T.
Mr. Millar has often been a fine player himself and is a brother of a former Liverpool F.C. centre-forward.
Parties of cadets have been going over ships during the summer and Mr. McMillan reports that more visits will be arranged in the next week or two.
All units will be holding special recruiting nights on September 11 and 13. Fuller details next week.
