More football transfers will be completed before the date of the third round of the Cup, January 5 because no guests will be allowed in the competition.
Reading gave Liverpool a shock when they asked between £4,000 and £5,000 for Jeff Gulliver, the back whom they have placed on the transfer list.
Gulliver, in the RAF, and stationed in the district, has been a Liverpool war guest. Liverpool returned the compliment with interest by allowing Reading to play their Scottish internationals Matt Busby and Willie Fagan.
Liverpool are prepared to do a swap but will not hear of talk on Reading’s terms.
