Liverpool have beaten several Scottish clubs in a brisk bidding bout for the signature of a prominent Fife amateur.
The player is Logan Mackenzie, a centre half, who was asked to sign at the end of a ten days’ trial with Liverpool in November.
Mackenzie said he was quite willing providing the club found him employment to finish his apprenticeship as a marine engineer, which was interrupted through war service.
He has now received word from Liverpool that they are able to meet his request. Mackenzie since his demob, has assisted several Fife junior clubs in important ties, and lately has been playing regularly for Burntisland Shipyard senior team.
He leaves for Liverpool on Monday.
