Doug McAvoy transferred to Queen of the South

Liverpool yesterday transferred Doug McAvoy to Queen of the South, and he will turn out against Dundee on Dens Park to-day. McAvoy is a forceful inside forward and should add punch to the Palmerston Park attack. He was formerly a Kilmarnock player, and signed for Liverpool at a £7,000 fee in December 1947. He recently asked to be put on the transfer list.
