Appointed manager of Glenavon
Glenavon decided last night to appoint Mr. Elisha Scott manager of their club subject to Belfast Celtic releasing him from his contract. The decision was taken after he had been interviewed at a special meeting of the directors.
It was stated after the meeting that terms had been agreed upon, and all that remained was for Mr. Scott to be released by Celtic. It is confidently expected that this will be done, and if so he will take up duty at Lurgan early next week.
Mr. Scott, who kept goal for Liverpool for 22 years, became manager of Belfast Celtic on his leaving the Lancashire club 16 years ago.
