December 22, 1951
Key note: “It was not a very nice for the game at Anfield, for it was drizzling rain, and the ground down the centre was muddy and sticky. It was found that neither Charles Ashcroft, nor Laurie Hughes were available for Liverpool, which meant that the Anfielders made their first change for six games. A good game of football with the conditions difficult. This, by the way, was Liverpool’s fourth successive home draw. Chelsea were a much better side than they have been for some time, and their half-share was well deserved.” (Liverpool Echo: December 22, 1951)
