Saturday, November 29 – 1952
Albert Stubbins, former Newcastle and England centre, reappears in league football today for the first time since September 22, 1951. Liverpool beaten five times in their last six matches, have recalled him to lead the attack against Blackpool.
Stubbins, recently recovered from injuries received in a motoring accident, takes over from Jack Smith, who switches to inside left in place of Ken Brierley.
